On his ninth birthday, Gwyn is given a brooch and told to cast it into the wind. Later he discovers the wind has sent something back: the snow spider.

So begins Gwyn’s journey as a magician. Against the shimmering backdrop of a magical domed city, Gwyn has to battle evil and heal a fractured family...

A spine-tingling story, full of magic and power, from acclaimed author Jenny Nimmo.

Cover art fails this - more like Coraline than Charlottes Web. How unfortunate that they chose to give it such a silly cover. It’s a dark stylish Gothic fairytale. WARNING to sensitive readers, some extremely graphic and disturbing scenes of animal cruelty./ torture. That’s just the only reason I gave it three stars because it is heinous and unnecessary and uncalled for to put that out there otherwise the writing is good.
