Perfect for fans of Mark Billingham and Stuart MacBride.
A murder made to look like suicide. Another that appears an accident.
DI Barton investigates the tragedies that have shattered a family’s lives, but without obvious leads the case goes nowhere. Then, when the remains of a body are found, everything points to one suspect.
Barton and his team move quickly, and once the killer is behind bars, they can all breathe a sigh of relief. But death still lurks in the shadows, and no one's soul is safe. Not even those of the detectives…
How do you stop a killer that believes life is a rehearsal for eternity, and their future is worth more than your own…?

Captivating all the way.
Never thought that the Snow Killer story could be topped like that. It is an art to create so much suspense in a realistic police investigation. The subtle creation of a, at first, likeable psychopath is admirable. Great story!

Gripping storyline
I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. Storyline was very well written as the Soul Killer slowly but surely became more dispatched from reality. Compulsive listening with a thrilling finale. 5 stars all the way!

ok
I found this one pretty stressful, actually. The villain was very unsettling, and it was the villain that carried the book. The plot was pretty basic and the mystery was straightforward. It wasn't a whodunnit or even a whydunnit, but more of a character study of a killer. At least half the book was told from the killer's perspective, and it was, like I said, unsettling. They were both totally unsympathetic, constantly making ya want to snack them upside the head, and also strangely sympathetic? Like, you can see how they came to be how they are and understand it, if not condone it.
I didn't really enjoy it, honestly, because it was grim and unnerving and a bit slow. I preferred the first book in the series. But, objectively, it was a pretty good book. I'm willing to take a chance on the next one when it comes out.
