About this listen

Complete six-book collection for one great price

From multiple-time Amazon number one best-selling author of over 40 books, Iain Rob Wright.

It's spreading....

The Scottish Highlands: a sparse, mountainous region some say was carved by the gods themselves. Few places are as untouched as this harsh, prehistoric landscape. It is no place for man. But nestled deep within the wilderness lies a cottage, and behind that cottage is a hill....

When Ryan Cartwright and a group of his closest friends hire a tiny cottage in the windswept Scottish Highlands to celebrate his upcoming wedding, they get more than they bargained for. Along with the deathly chill and the unforgiving landscape, they are about to discover something unimaginably ancient and unbelievably wicked.

With the party heating up, Ryan's childhood friend, "Mad fer it" Sean, fills his body with lager and pills, pushing everybody's patience to their limits, but the real party is yet to begin. You see, something else has gotten inside of Sean's bloodstream, something far more toxic than the booze and drugs. Something that is at first invisible, but slowly begins to grow...and spread...and kill.

If you love claustrophobic horror with an unhealthy dose of body-horror, then The Spread will knock your socks off. Get the complete six-book collection now and enjoy the entire story.

excellent

I saw on another website that Iain Wright was giving away some of his books for free, so I decided to buy one of his instead an author (whether good or bad) deserves to be supported for that kind of thing.
And I am glad I did! This was a wonderful story that sent me on a week long rollercoaster ride. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.
if you want a story that feels heavily inspired by The War of the World's, and all about Human survival... this is the one for you.

Fantastic listen

What a great listen. Your standard zombie/alien invasion mash up but with just enough new twists to make incredibly engaging. Amazing voice performance. Some of these characters will sit with you for a long while after you finish.

Characters you actually like!

Is this a hard hitting zombie-esque gorefest? No. Is it a good book series? Absolutely. Despite the inevitable “and they all lived happily ever after” ending, you actually end up thinking “well I’m glad that worked out for them”… well some of them… kind of… Listen, there are heroes, there are villains, there are plot twists, there’s enough going on to keep it interesting but not so much as to overwhelm. Definitely recommend.
