About this listen

When Aline Griffith was born in Pearl River, New York, in 1923, one might have guessed from her exceptional beauty that a career as an actress or model might be in her future. Few would have imagined that twenty-one years later, she would find herself in Spain as a deep-cover OSS agent, infiltrating the highest levels of Spanish society, or that five years later still, she would marry a Spanish grandee and become one of the most watched, most admired, most fascinating women of international society. This is the story of Aline, Countess of Romanones, a story of courage, beauty and success that is far more exciting than any fictionalized thriller.©1987 by Aline, Countess of Romanones (P)1995 by Blackstone Audiobooks Europe True Crime Wars & Conflicts Women Military War France

Code name: Tiger

This is a great story, based on real events and experiences. A young recruit in a young spy agency, violence, glamour, history, persistence and excitement. It took me a while to get into the story, but once I did, I was hooked. The narrator was okay, I slowed the speed to 90%. A recommended read for a view of WW II from beautiful Spain.

Fun

This is a fun read, and well narrated. It describes the experience of high society in Spain during world war II and gives a flavour of the activities of allied and axis secret intelligence services in Madrid in the last year of the war. My understanding is that this is a highly embellished account, so take the author's it with a grain of salt, and enjoy the ride.
