I hated this book
I expected to love this book as I advocate for a whole food plant-based diet and also high carb (starch). I was very disappointed in the way the McDougal tried to get his points across. He's inconsistent with the way he argues certain points. There's also a lot of misinformation here, such as his statement that soy should be kept to an absolute minimum or not ingested at all. I do not recommend this book.

A fine book ...
One key message, eat more starch in its natural state!
It didn't take the whole book to get this across to me, but the other material in the book as (while not new) relevant, informative and interesting.
Glad I read it, would not read a 2nd book on this same topic though.
I do plan to implement the suggestions in the book into practice.

A modern day hero, speaking truths.
Dr. McDougall makes it simple and clear. This should be a must read for those who are unsure of what real food can do for their health. I appreciate the Dr., one of the brave and caring who isn’t afraid to swim upstream.

not as good as expected
I think I could have saved money and just watched Youtube. This book is too much of a rant against the USA food industry and not enough just plain practical application. I am very disappointed. I think a book buy someone who used the starch solution would likely be better. I already had all this into from YouTube.
