About this listen

In a small Arizona town, a man counts his blessings: a loving wife, two teenage daughters, and a job that allows him to work at home. Then "The Store" announces plans to open a local outlet, which will surely finish off the small downtown shops. His concerns grow when "The Store's" builders ignore all the town's zoning laws during its construction. Then dead animals are found on "The Store's" grounds. Inside, customers are hounded by obnoxious sales people, and strange products appear on the shelves. Before long the town's remaining small shop owners disappear, and "The Store" spreads its influence to the city council and the police force, taking over the town! It's up to one man to confront "The Store's" mysterious owner and to save his community, his family, and his life!

it was good, But

if you have a problem with a storyline that ends up centralized on an unthinkable act... well it's fairly good up untill then. it is definitely a horror suspense story, worth a listen, but should be available for members plus because I am definitely returning iit for the mentioned takeaway from it.

The Store

Creeeepy!! And a social commentary on consumerism but don't worry about that, you can just creep yourself out

decent

not terrible not great. worth the read still I think . I found it fairly interesting, definitely not scary but that being said horror is subjective. I will keep reading Bentley little. its pretty twisted so that's always win with me.

Loved the story, disliked the narrator

I absolutely love Bentley Little. I’m slowly working through all his titles. I really enjoyed this one but the narrator is awful. Unfortunately, I have a couple other BL titles purchased that I’ll have to suffer through his drab drawl to listen to.

crash and burn

the performance for this novel was absolutely terrible. honestly, the writing didn't help either. this is my second book from Bentley little and it's just not worth your time.
- poorly executed, meaningless sex scenes that seemed like they're written by someone that has no clue of what sex looks like in a relationship or what a real situation with exploitation would look and feel like.
-lackluster story line. big corporations are evil and take out local stores so it was a join them and change it story. like really. oooooo scary.
-disappointing
-as always intro seems amazing, story is shit.

Very Slow Moving

Bentley Little is one of my favorite authors but I found this one incredibly boring for me. Slow moving. I'm still have to keep it though for my collection. Maybe try it again another time. But right now....it does nothing for me.
