About this listen
Audie Award Winner, Personal Development, 2013
Author Benjamin Hoff shows that the philosophy of Winnie-the-Pooh is amazingly consistent with the principles of Taoism and demonstrates how you can use these principles in your daily life.
Is there such thing as a Western Taoist? Benjamin Hoff says there is, and this Taoist's favorite food is honey. Through brilliant and witty dialogue with the beloved Pooh-bear and his companions, the author of this smash bestseller explains with ease and aplomb that rather than being a distant and mysterious concept, Taoism is as near and practical to us as our morning breakfast bowl. Romp through the enchanting world of Winnie-the-Pooh while soaking up invaluable lessons on simplicity and natural living.
While Eeyore frets and Piglet hesitates and Rabbit calculates and Owl pontificates, Pooh just is. And that's the clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoists.
The Tao of Pooh is an international bestseller and the first Taoist-authored book in history to appear on bestseller lists, it remained on The New York Times’ bestseller list for 49 weeks.

Pretty good book
Very good at basically explaining the way of life.
A little exaggerated at times but done so in a way to really hammer in the message.
Overall a joyful book, very funny at times, and a must read for anyone looking to know the way.

Changed my life
In the year 2020, any encouragement is welcome. This book spoke to me like a kindly grandfather, imparting help and wisdom that I'll always carry with me. I think I'm a Taoist now :)

A lovely, relaxing, insightful experience
Having taken a few lessons on the Tao, I thought this would be a great accompaniment. Using the characters from the Hundred Acre Wood, the author beautifully and humorously lays out the main ideas of the Tao. There’s a surprising number of parallels and lessons to be drawn from Pooh and his friends!
Well written and wonderfully narrated. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it and will revisit it in the future.

surprisingly enjoyable
this was funny, informative and lovely
I knew nothing about it going into it but I'm glad to have found it.
I don't agree with all things the author shares and thinks but I enjoyed walking through the thought processes along with him.
give it a try

Insightful
Tao Te Ching for children and beginners. The metaphors are great examples of personality types. There is only one Way to live.
I will listen to it several times.

10/10 recommend
A bit unorthodox, and can be somewhat difficult to follow at times- if you're not paying attention- but a great book with a very strong message. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone!
