About this listen
In a quiet residential area in London, a couple is discovered bound and imprisoned in their own home. Savagely battered and severely dehydrated, the worst revelation is yet to come: their eight-year-old son has been abducted. But when the body is found and forensic evidence turns the case on its head, revealing disturbing parallels to events in Detective Caffery's own past, Caffery realizes he's dealing with much more sinister forces than he'd anticipated - and finds it increasingly difficult to maintain his professional distance.
As the evidence mounts and Caffery struggles to hold his own life together, the case hurtles toward a shocking conclusion.

DIFFERENT
Very different to what I usually listen to. The narrator, although good with regualar narration not so good with other characterss, in particular Danny - imagine it being a porn voice over.
The story itself was disturbing and I thought Birdman was graphic but this delves into the world of pedophelia, I did not like the ending not sure if it was resolved but I guess you can interpret your own ending to your satisfaction,
Don't think I will listen to anymore of Mo Hayder.. If I did it would be with great trapidation as to the content

Extremely disappointing
I listened to the first two books of this series and they were pretty good, but this third one seems to not have been written by the same author at all. The story is slow and uninteresting. The new narrator would be perfect for reading children’s books but seems completely oblivious to the content he is reading, sing-songing his way through describing body parts and addiction issues…
