About this listen
In this sequel to The Pecan Man, Eldred Mims has died in prison after serving time for a crime he did not commit. When Ora Lee Beckworth decides to set the record straight, her confession leaves Blanche Lowery's daughters, Patrice and Grace, to grapple with the aftermath of a lifetime of lies. Now the sisters must reframe everything they thought they knew about their mother, their brother, and the man they knew as Eddie.

Loved this story
I absolutely loved this follow up to the Pecan Man. It’s in my top favs of audio books and it was included in membership!! The narrators were captivating especially Grace. The storyline was not predictable and flowed to each character so beautifully. Loved this book and I loved The Pecan Man. Read it.

Lessons in the aftermath of trauma
not sure if the author intended to lecture about being a side car to someone else's addiction, but some of the narrative could come straight out of a therapist's hand book.

A good follow-up
I am glad I listened to this sequel, and would argue that it is necessary to tie up the story introduced in the first book. The characters were all so reflective and relatable as they worked towards healing.
Really good performances and none of the volume issues in the first. it just really bothered me that the narrator for Patrice did not have a Southern accent. It was quite distracting.
