Pretty good!

I enjoyed this book as I do most K.L.Slater books. It ended a little too suddenly for me and I had lots of unanswered questions. Otherwise, definitely worth listening to.

Interesting Story

I enjoyed this book . Some aspect seemed a little far fetched but on the whole a very good story. Narrator is excellent, one of my favorites.

Good as ever

Another good read by K L Slater.
And as ever, the surprise (in this case surprises) ending. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out……..!

Letdown Conclusion

Holly and David. David and Holly. Traumatized, Insecure David and Traumatized, Embittered Holly.
K.L. Slater provides a gripping "what the hell is going on" narrative about two damaged people with not-what-it-seems backgrounds and disturbing inner thoughts. Slater masterfully uses drip-drip-drip revelations in separate timelines - and interest-piquing foreshadowing - to keep her readers/listeners captivated.
Unfortunately, the majority of the novel deals with mundane (+/- inane) day-to-day circumstances in the lives of David & Holly - at home and at work. In addition, the payoff for all of the brilliant buildup is predictable and melodramatic. Readers are forgiven for saying out loud: "That's it?!? That soap opera plot is what they were freaked out about?!?".

Happily, Audible Studios enlisted a genuinely brilliant reader to read the book: Lucy Price-Lewis has quickly become a favorite narrator - exhibiting unparalleled diction, timbre, cadence, and pacing.. and spot-on tone and voice-acting. Her performance elevates the book considerably.

I am a fan of Slater.. savouring her interesting character exposition and enjoying her plausible twists. Hence, I'm a little bit disappointed with this 7/10 star effort. 'The Visitor' is one of the author's weakest.
If you can get it as a 'Plus' selection, by all means do so (the suspense aspects are excellent).. but spend your Credit on one of Slater's other offerings if Audible asks for one.

Quintessential K L Slater

Has everything that is to be expected from K L Slater. She usually holds all her cards to her until the very end and tries to take care of all loose ends in the course of the last 15 minutes of the book narration. Its a technique that sometimes works and at other times doesn't. Overall a good story with some quirky characters but nothing extraordinary to look forward to.

Why can't people be kind?

K. L. Slater shows the effects that can occur when people are bullied and picked on in their formative years. And, as per usual, we get the surprising twists at the end!

Great thriller

The climax is brilliant. It’s one of those rare books where the victims are not quite what they seem. On one hand, they are definitely victims of horrible crimes, but their own tales are also very complex. The narrator did a fabulous job.

LOVED IT !

This story had me intrigued the whole time. I especially like the narrator Lucy Price-Lewis.
I did not imagine that the ending would have such a twist.
