About this listen

A lady of quality would not wager her honor to restore her family's fortunes - or would she?

Lady Jane Lovelace has conceived the idea of approaching the most notorious man-about-town, Lord Charles Welbourne, with a most unique proposition. When he counters her offer with a condition that he thinks will halt her impudence, much to the surprise of both, she accepts.

A novel of passion and intrigue, The Westerby Inheritance is a thrilling installment in an emotionally charged romantic saga, all played out against a backdrop of elegant 18th-century society.

Ambiguous Ending

I have to assume there is a sequel as the story ended abruptly with many loose ends. Kept me listening past my bedtime. Overall quite good but now will have to hunt down the next in the series.

It was probably fine…

I quit partway through because the age gap was a little too much for me (17 & 35) and gave me the icks

Beware

Just beware that it ends in a cliffhanger and keeps you wondering where the second book is in the series however there is not one😳 each book in the series is a completely separate story… Very disappointed that there was not a second book for this one as you are left expecting one at the end of the book!

Agatha Raisin is so much better

This book is just run of the mill and the narration is fine but lackluster compared to Penelope Keith

Didn't end found the ending in The Westerby Sister

I was very disappointed with the ending. There should of been a second book to answer all the questions. I found the second book The Westerby Sisters. So much better. Thank you as now a better ending. Sorry but I'm happy now.

Attempt at Cliffhanger

I found the last hour boring, and as it ends in (a poor attempt at a) cliffhanger, it feels suddenly like a genre shift.

Story cheats the readers

The prose is pleasant and the idea for the story interesting. However, the book has a major cliffhanger which is entirely unpleasant. Further more, finding out what happens to these characters beyond this book is even more unpleasant. If you aren't a fan of this sort of writing, I DO NOT recommend this book. This story goes from interesting romance to dark and just plain unpleasant. ...I'm so displeased. The narration was fine.

Anti-Asian Racism

Starting at about 5 minutes and 40 seconds into chapter 2. I stopped listening in disgust and will delete this book as soon as I finish this review. The only reason this has any stars noted is that audible require it before a review can be posted.
