Publisher's Summary
The brilliant psychological thriller from bestseller Valerie Keogh.
Grieving or guilty?
When Allison’s wealthy and charming husband Peter is found dead, she appears distraught, devastated...delighted?
Because despite an apparently picture-perfect marriage, Allison knows it was all built on a bed of lies.
And as the truth regarding Peter’s life and death are revealed, Allison must try to keep her own dark past buried.
Because if Peter was keeping secrets, then his widow is too....
Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Shalini Boland and K. L. Slater.
What the critics say
"Keogh is the queen of compelling narratives and twisty plots." (Jenny O'Brien)
"A wonderful book, I can’t rate this one highly enough. If only there were ten stars, it’s that good. Valerie Keogh is a master story-teller, and this is a masterful performance." (Anita Waller, bestselling author)

Enjoyable Distraction
Valerie Keogh is uncommonly courageous in presenting a deliberately unlikable gold-digger for a protagonist in 'Allison Fellows'. When Allison's deceptive trophy husband dies after "falling" onto the tracks in the London Underground, mayhem ensues.
Keogh explores the various examples of psychopathology nicely, drip-drip-drip reveals lies & scheming & duplicity among all of the characters masterfully, and provides plausible suspects for the crime.
The pacing is a little bit awkward, but - despite being fairly pedestrian and melodramatic - this Mystery/Psychological-Suspense book is quite readable.
Unfortunately, reader Rose Robinson lets the book down somewhat by exhibiting a distinctly "adequate" performance. To be clear: her diction, timbre, cadence, pacing, voice-acting, and tone are creditable - even praiseworthy - but the mispronunciations are baffling [this is the only place that I have ever heard the name Cyrano (SEE-rah-no) pronounced suh-RAH-no, for example]. In toto, it's pretty clear that Boldwood Books could have cast this project better.
Altogether, 'The Widow' rates 7.5 stars out of 10. It was a pleasant way to while away a couple of quiet afternoons as a 'Plus' option (not requiring an inordinate degree of concentration).. but is unlikely to merit a Credit should they ask for one.

Wonderfully CAPTIVATING and Suspenseful !!!
Wished so could give 10 stars to this book.
It was one of the most thrilling books I’ve listened to in a long time. I could not wait for the next chapter. I listened to it until the wee hours of the morning just to hear what was the ending.
I will be definitely looking forward to more books by Valerie Kroger. She had us in suspense for sure. Beautifully written. Absolutely best writing.
Even more wonderful was the captivating voice of Rose Robinson. She held your attention with her beautiful narration of this fantastic book. She was AWESOME.
I enjoyed this book tremendously and it’s so so worth a CREDIT.
Thank you AUDIBLES PLUS for including it in my Library.

Not your typical book
Was full of surprises and not your typical book at all. Narrator was excellent and captured the personalities of the characters perfectly
