About this listen
Mike Malloy’s hedge fund is more than just a money machine - it’s a weapon of insight, capable of forecasting global events with chilling accuracy.
When Mike’s proprietary software predicts an inevitable conflict between the United States and China, he faces an impossible choice: exploit the knowledge to secure unimaginable wealth, or risk everything to avert a nuclear war.
As financial markets teeter on the brink and global tensions escalate, Mike finds himself at the crossroads of ethics and ambition. With his closest allies questioning his every move and powerful enemies circling, he must decide - will he become the savior of humanity or the architect of its destruction?
In The Win Machine, Ryan McBeth delivers a gripping techno-thriller that explores the terrifying power of technology, the dangers of unchecked ambition, and the razor-thin line between profit and catastrophe. As the countdown to global annihilation ticks away, the ultimate question emerges: How far would you go to win?

Story
A fun ride, a bit too short as a book
Listening to this audiobook is a lot like watching a Ryan McBeth video where he plays out likely war scenarios. This story outlines one such scenario that weaves in a ton of fascinating tech elements including quantum computing, drone dogs, and a nuclear tete-a-tete showdown with China.
Audiobook version was a solid listen and the narrator was fine, though the narration sometimes felt a little rushed, especially right at the end where it just kind of ... ended. One quibble: One character was named Ruchi, a fairly common Jewish female first name, and if that was the intention, the narrator butchered it over and over.
And hey, speaking of females, having grown up on Robert Heinlein stories, this story's obsession with the main character's wife's breast enlargement felt downright Heinlein-esque. All the seeing, touching, and exploration of said surgery, none of which had anything to do with the plot and all of which was nevertheless mentioned at every possible opportunity. Sure, Ryan's audience probably leans toward the manly men and I'm sure some of them found that delightful. As an adult and not a man (woman), I found it annoying.
I mean, yeah, I get that that's Ryan's brand, you've got the booze and the cigars and the bathrobe with the food stains and presumably the accompanying catcalls, groping, and disrespect. This book is basically all that in book form. But given how tangential that particular surgery was to the plot, maybe just mention it once and move on. I'm sure most readers will be able to get past it, but it just feels off and for sure coloured my perception of the book as a whole and the author as a person.

Incredibly average
It was okay. Gets much more entertaining near the end but the climax is rather disappointing

Plausible far-out fiction
It slowly sucked me in, until it hit me in a cadence reminiscent of reality. Very unique and fun ride that had me questioning current capabilities and near future possibilities. I recommend

Oh hum.
far too much discription of elements in the Story. I was overcome by adjectives that slowed the stories progress to a crawl. This smacks of an example of Ai verbal diaherria. Sorry Ryan, just not what I expected based on your entertaining YouTube creations.
