About this listen
From New York Times bestselling author Kathleen E. Woodiwiss comes one of her most beloved romances...
The Wolf
Noble Aislinn grieves as the Iron Wolf and his minions storm through her beloved Darkenwald. And she burns with malice for the handsome Norman savage who would enslave her. . .even as she aches to know the rapture of the conqueror's kiss.
The Dove
For the first time ever, mighty Wulfgar has been vanquished—and by a bold and beautiful princess of Saxon blood. He must have the chaste, sensuous enchantress who is sworn to his destruction. And he will risk life itself to nurture with tender passion a glorious union born in the blistering heat of hatred and war.

The choice of narrator ruined it.
A sad performance of a good novel. I waited a long time for the audio book (pre order). The cadence and intonation of the narrator was cringeworthy. The accents of the Norman’s were particularly horrible. Kathleen E Woodiwiss wrote solid historical fiction in the 70s. This sounded like a Harlequin novel.

Not Believable
Seems like you're just supposed to like the main male character because he is the main character, not because he actually does anything trustworthy. The pace of the relationship is not believable at all. The voice actor isn't terrible but her voices are a bit over the top and jarring sometimes.

Disappointed after 50 years.
I was so eager to hear this story that I had read in the early 1970s. It was delayed from Jan/23 to March/23 to July/23. and I started it as soon as I could. The narrator was merely adequate with little change in speed or modulations. The story was the same but not as captivating. It was a good learning experience. New readers may enjoy the storyline much more than I have.
