Raw, Gritty, Unexpectedly Poetic, Insightful
This is just a really good story. It’s real and funny and a bit sad, but also contains many insightful truths that you may not expect to hear within a book like this.
Anyone who has come from less than ideal beginnings or has had to adjust their speech patterns (or learned to stop swearing) or has moved on from their past, will be able to relate to this story. Or anyone who did drugs in the 90s. This book has the ability to connect with a wider audience than the demographic represented in the story.
Usually I am suspicious of authors who narrate their own books because normally they do a horrible job. This author did an amazing job however. He’s obviously a born story teller. You couldn’t actually imagine someone else narrating once you finished the book.
It did take me a while to get into the story, I wasn’t fully engaged during the first few chapters, but then I was and I couldn’t stop listening. Strongly recommend.
