Very rushed book

I understand we had met the girl once because so maybe we didn’t need the entire backstory, but man this book was rushed.

She was out of a job and an unsavoury man who she refused to marry was blackmailing her, so she decided to leave in the middle of the night.

That is until the sheriff and two of the soldiers from the ranch found her, brought her to jail and married her within minutes.
