Publisher's Summary
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author L A Cotton comes a brand-new angsty and gritty romance duet.
Harleigh Wren Maguire is broken.
At least, that’s what it feels like, a puzzle whose pieces no longer fit right.
She knows one thing, though: Never trust your heart.
It won’t lead you right, it’ll trick you. Betray you. And in the end, it’ll kill you.
Phoenix Wilder is angry.
At least, that’s what it feels like, eating him up inside.
He knows one thing, though: Never trust your heart.
It won’t fix things, it’ll break them. Taint them. And in the end, it’ll destroy them.
Once upon a time, Harleigh and Nix were everything to each other. They shared their secrets, their hopes and dreams.
But things are different now.
They’re different.
And maybe everything they remember was nothing but a lie.
These Dirty Lies is the first book in Nix and Harleigh's duet. Due to mature content that some listeners may find distressing, this book is recommended for listeners 17+.

Loved this book
I loved the prequel and could not wait to get my hands on this duet. I knew the tension would be off the charts, and combined with the angst, the chemistry and the history of these characters, it was exactly what I wanted.
Friends to enemies to lovers, this story had so many ups and down. My heart broke for these characters time and time again. I just wanted everything to be revealed and for them to have their HEA. Of course, this wasn’t going to happen in part one and I just became more frustrated with their circumstances.
I enjoyed this book as much as the prequel and I’m very happy it lived up to the hype. I devoured this book and cannot wait for book 2.
As for the narrators, I liked the male narrator more than the female. She didn’t completely take me out of the story but probably not my favorite. I think these two worked well together and I will listen to the next book.
