I had a hard time listening to Lola since it's in 'point form' but once I got used to it, it was endearing. The whole book was wonderful, great writing, great narration. Definitely one of my favorite Marian Keyes books.

I have listened to many books from this author and this one was awful. I was hoping for a lighter type summer listen, so picked this as it seemed to have fun elements. Beyond the dismal story telling, the author would lead us to believe Ireland is a country of fashion mavens all weighing less than 100 pounds who’s only life goal is to capture a man and criticize other women. I physically pulled my car over to the side of the road to switch audio books after being subjected to a lengthy and hateful description of a “tranny” character (her language, not mine) that had no earthly sense being there beyond spewing more idiocy. Oh and note to author; yes, we all know Bono is Irish. You don’t need to mention it every few sentences from every character.

I usually really like this author. But this one is written like texts or something. Abbreviated/ truncated sentences and few redeeming qualities for the main character. Not a fan.
