Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. Full of Mispronunciations
I read the physical books and liked the series overall. The narrator mispronounces Adarlan through the whole series, along with many other common fantasy words like wyvern and Samhain. Painful to listen to.

Amazing story!!
I'm just recently getting into back to reading and started with this book. The narrating does an amazing job at painting the picture between the characters, and the story is super captivating. The author has a way of writing that makes you feel the emotions the character is going through, 100/10 book!

Creative and vivid world
I started with acotar and fell in love with the chemistry charged romance. This book does not have that same emotional pull and is much more of a teen novel. The world is beautifully created but the dialogue is not a believable as Maas other books.

Entertaining
The story is definetly entertaining. I had a hard time reconciling the main character and the prince's personalities to what there backgrounds are supose to be. The plot leaves you reaching for the next book though. I hope to see growth in book two.

Captivating and creative
Great story and listen. My only thing is that Samhain was pronounced “Sam-hew-en” and it is actually pronounced like “Sow-En”… other than that - awesome book! Gonna go for the next.
Thanks!
