Publisher's Summary

A fun and sexy romance where the kiln isn't the only thing that's scorching hot.

Leo Secombe loves his life, and he's convinced himself he's happy to be single. In his spare time, he keeps himself busy at a local LGBTQ centre that pairs a younger person with a community elder to help them feel included in today's rainbow family. Leo and Clyde have been buddies for a few years now, and signing up for a pottery class seems like fun.

Merrick Bowman has been so focused on getting his pottery business up and running that he's forgotten how to date. How to live, even. But when a young, bubbly Leo and an older, grumpy Clyde walk through his door, Merrick has no idea how much Leo is about to centre his world.

Throwing clay has been Merrick's entire life, but Leo's about to change all that. Maybe Merrick's ready to throw caution to the wind. And maybe he's ready to finally throw his heart on the line.

So damn good

This was everything I love about an NR Walker book. Sweetness, laughs and love and a few tears. I loved Leo and Merrick together, but I also enjoyed Clyde and Donny getting together. And Shirley and Clyde’s banter was great.
Highly recommended.

Not Quite Enough

This started out promising, with the romance building between our heroes, but it went south about half way through. The whole abstaining from sex thing would have been fine if they had a reason that made sense. Both heroes regretted the decision and thought about it often. If they'd discussed the reasons behind the choice, there wouldn't have been a problem.

I found that this book was just too short. Now, I have nothing against this particular length of story, but there were significant scene-setting, description, and character developments missing from the writing that would have nicely filled-out the word count.

The ending was entirely unsatisfactory. Everything felt rushed, as though the author just couldn't wait to be done with writing. Also, (to avoid spoilers...) there's a scene that is just so unnatural and cheesy that really bothered me. There were plenty of ways that the author could have written that scene WITHOUT going full-cheese, and instead, playing it cool and letting things play out naturally.

Overall, I'm not totally sold on this one, but I did like the idea of it. Good effort.
