About this listen
It’s the 1st of June 1914 and Hugh Stanton, ex-soldier and celebrated adventurer is quite literally the loneliest man on earth. No one he has ever known or loved has been born yet. Perhaps now they never will be.
Stanton knows that a great and terrible war is coming. A collective suicidal madness that will destroy European civilization and bring misery to millions in the century to come. He knows this because, for him, that century is already history.
Somehow he must change that history. He must prevent the war. A war that will begin with a single bullet. But can a single bullet truly corrupt an entire century?
And, if so, could another single bullet save it?

Amazing listen - for fans of every genre!
This book is great on so many levels. I am not normally huge on science fiction, but after listening to 11/22/63 (another great listen), I thought I would give the time travel/alternative history genre another try.
Firstly, if you're a fan of or at all interested in history/politics - check this out. The historical depiction from the author is gripping. While I disagree with the author's take on a couple minor things, this did not take away from the novel as I felt completely immersed and entertained.
Secondly, if you're a fan of good narration, this audiobook delivers. The amazing voices from Jot Davies really felt alive! They were entertaining, funny, and completely believable. It was superb to the point that this is a narrator I am going to be on the lookout for.
Thirdly, if you're a fan of mystery, fast-paced action, interesting twists, thoughtful commentary, or just generally learning about historical places/people - this is the book for you.
Please give it a shot because you won't regret it!
