Amazing story telling
I love this book, I instantly went and bought the others. The story telling is amazing, and the performance of the narrators is stunning. This is definitely in my top ten of reads!

Immature Protagonist
The protagonist is spiteful, overemotional, really hard to empathize with. Her melodramatics make it hard to know when something is supposed to be a truly impactful moment. The world building is only shared through her, and as she is sheltered, there is little knowledge to understand why something is happening. I kept feeling like I was missing lore that I needed to know to follow the plot. In the end it felt exhausting and overwritten.

fantastic
Holy flying fudge waffles this was GREAT. I can't wait until book two comes out. Hopefully it won't be ages between the book and the audio. I also hope to have more Riordan (sp, since I was only listening) in the next book. <3

This was a miss for me
Narration was good but the story and plot line fell super flat. There was little to no character development, the chemistry between the FMC and MMC wasn’t there, and the world building wasn’t fleshed out enough. So much so that it was confusing at times.

the narrators annoying gasps
Could not get past the narrator gasping at the end of every sentence. I made it to chapter 4 and was just nauseous from her gasping. I honestly couldn't even tell you what happened in those chapters I was to distracted by the gasps. I just wanted it to stop. So sadly that is where the book ended for me. A complete waste of my credit.
