Steven Toast
About this listen
In Toast on Toast - part memoir, part "how to act" manual - Steven Toast draws on his vast and varied experiences, providing the reader with an invaluable insight into his journey from school plays to RADA and from "It's a Right Royal Knockout" to the Colony Club.
Along the way he reveals the secrets of his success. He discloses how to brush up on and expand your technical and vocal skills, how to nail a professional voiceover, and how to deal with difficult work experience staff in a recording studio. He also reveals the dangers of typecasting, describes the often ruthless struggle for 'top billing', and shares many awesome nuggets of advice.
The end result is a book that will inspire and educate anyone who wants to tread the floorboards. It will also inform (and entertain) anybody who simply wants to discover what a jobbing actor's life is actually like.

Story
In Alan Partridge: Nomad, Alan dons his boots, windcheater and scarf and embarks on an odyssey through a place he once knew - it's called Britain - intent on completing a journey of immense personal significance. Diarising his ramble in the form of a 'journey journal', Alan details the people and places he encounters, ruminates on matters large and small and, on a final leg fraught with danger, becomes not a man (because he was one to start off with) but a better, more inspiring example of a man.

The Mighty Boosh is unlike any show you are ever likely to hear, and one that defies description; the closest you could get to the unique style of Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding would be in the early days of Reeves and Mortimer, with their cardboard props and men with sticks.

Absolutely Brilliant!
Matt Berry is a genius. This is a masterpiece work for all artists, especially actors who like to reflect on the business of being an artist or actor. I have watched all the episodes of the TV show as well but I would argue as excellent as those are the masterpiece is actually this audiobook. All fans of Steven Toast must listen to this. I have to confess the only reason I signed up for Audible was to get this book. I hope Jeff Bezos pays him to do another one. Or is it Geoff

Endlessy re-listen-able
I have long been a fan of Matt Berry’s comedy, especially the series “Toast of London“. I don’t know how many times I’ve re-watched episodes of the series, but by now I must’ve listened to this audiobook even more.
It’s an ever green, it can be enjoyed over and over. Still makes me laugh each time!

Absolutely Wonderful!!!
A wonderful addition to Toast of London, Matt Berry once again shows that he's an absolute master of comedy. The only downside is that he doesn't have any other audio books to listen to.

Made all the better by Matt Berry
It was a great listen and the book really benefitted from being read by Matt Berry due to his unique pronunciation and the gag of unprofessional gaffs in his recording which really sells Steven Toast.
