About this listen

A psychological suspense novel of obsession and dangerous love. The new, updated edition of Too Late from the number one New York Times best-selling author of Verity.

Sloan will go through hell and back for those she loves. And she does so, every single day. Caught up with the alluring Asa Jackson, a notorious drug trafficker, Sloan has finally found a lifeline to cling to, even if it’s meant compromising her morals. She was in dire straits trying to pay for her brother’s care until she met Asa. But as Sloan became emotionally and economically reliant on him, he in turn developed a disturbing obsession with her—one that becomes increasingly dangerous every day.

When undercover DEA Agent Carter enters the picture, Sloan’s surprised to feel an immediate attraction between them, despite knowing that if Asa finds out, he will kill him. And Asa has always been a step ahead of everyone in his life, including Sloan. No one has ever gotten in his way.

No one except Carter.

Together, Sloan and Carter must find a way out before it’s too late....

Narration was too robotic for me

The story was good but the narration ruined it a bit for me. Felt too robotic. At some points it was hard to tell if Sloan was telling me her story or Siri. Carter/Luke was also not great. Too monotone for me. Too bad because the story was good I just couldn’t really get immersed in it unfortunately.

Excellent Book!!! Great Perspectives & Insight.

LOVE Asa’s perspective in this novel. Great example of the inner-workings of the mind of someone who is sick and how it came to be. The chapters when we was young were the strongest for this overall story. “Carter’s” character was a beautiful example of a man with a truly pure heart.. the epilogue made me ball my eyes out with the beauty of his perspective. All characters were excellent. My only complaint would be that there didn’t need to be so many plot twists of the same feel near the end… one or two would have sufficed. Would recommend & read again.

Really Good!

Very well written story. This is my second favorite story so far from this author (first is Verity). The narration was ok... some of the voices were poorly done, but it was tolerable. Just a warning, if you are offended by curse words, there are a lot of them in here.

Loved it

This is for sure one of her better storylines. A few pot twists, somewhat predictable but would still absolutely recommend!

Loved it so much

Solan’s narrator wasn’t my favourite but besides that I loved it. I couldn’t stop listening. It’s rare I feel so much pull to a story but this one did it for me. Not one dull moment. I highly recommend

Not her best novel

I found it annoying how much Sloan cried. Always crying. Almost quit listening with 3 hours to go but I tried not to cry and I powered through. Decent story and ending.
