About this listen
Erik Mitchell traveled the world uncovering art fraud and relic theft, which pitted him against spoiled billionaires, unscrupulous collectors, mobsters, and cartels. He worked with law enforcement across the US and Europe, but then a sting goes wrong, Erik ends up injured and returns to find his partner cheating. He decides to stop globetrotting and buy an antique shop in scenic Cape May, New Jersey, rebuild his life, and nurse his broken heart.
Undercover Newark cop Ben Nolan went down in a hail of bullets when a bust went sideways, after a tip-off from a traitor inside the department. When he recovers, he spends a couple of years as a private investigator, only to tire of seeing the worst of human nature. So when his aunt offers him the chance to take over her rental real estate business in Cape May, it seems too good to be true. Now if he could just believe he could ever be lucky again in love.
Sparks fly when Erik and Ben meet. But when a cursed hotel's long-ago scandals resurface, the two men are pulled into a web of lies, danger, and deception that will test their bond - and might make them Cape May's newest ghosts!
Contains mature themes.

GOOD START TO A NEW SERIES
Excellent plot. Full of intrigues with police, criminals and interesting characters. Lots of action and a good supply of tensed moments. I hope there will more books to come from this series. I will definitely look forward for more paranormal series from Morgan Brice, a very talented author. I also enjoyed the narration/performance by John Solo and hope he will continue to narrate future books in this series.

Raping behaviour passed as inconsequencial by the MC
I don't understand why I have to explain this but if one MC has their hand on the penis of a sleeping partner and they are touching their sleeping partner sexually = it is rape. It's not sexy! It is a jaring breach of trust between partners. That person is sleeping therefore uncontious. Why do I have to point that out? Don't you know what is right & wrong?
What is wrong with you?
author, please realize that touching inapropriately an unconsious person is wrong, it an abuse and can also be rape.
The scene becomes consensual sex when the sleeping person wakes up... good for them to not be traumatised but they were violated nonetheless.
I could not believe in the character happy reaction toward the MC.
At least the abusive/raping behaviour from the main character happens at the end of the book so you don't start the story with that horror show.
The story itself could be interesting with the supernarural elements.
The narration was okay but did not quite manage to get me hooked.
