About this listen
What would the world look like if everybody had everything they wanted or needed? Trekonomics, the premier book in financial journalist Felix Salmon's imprint PiperText, approaches scarcity economics by coming at it backward - through thinking about a universe where scarcity does not exist. Delving deep into the details and intricacies of 24th-century society, Trekonomics explores post-scarcity and whether we, as humans, are equipped for it. What are the prospects of automation and artificial intelligence? Is there really no money in Star Trek? Is Trekonomics at all possible?

Don't let the title fool you, this book is deep!
I guess "the economics of post scarcity as explored in popular science fiction, and how it relates to reality" probably wouldn't fly off the shelves. this is a great, entertaining read, and you will feel better about the world when you're done. Make it so No1.

Great Content, Mispronounces Every Trek Word
You'd think someone on this team would know it's Ferengi not Ferengis, planet Risa not Rizza, and Garek not Gar-rock. Wow. Still, great ideas about how Trek's economy could work and interesting insights about the shows.
