About this listen

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson comes a rollicking, riveting tale set in the Cosmere universe–a standalone adventure perfect for fans of The Princess Bride.

The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Performed by Chris Davenport, Crystal Lee, Torian Brackett, Wyn Delano, Eva Wilhelm, Natalie Van Sistine, Shanta Parasuraman, Bradley Foster Smith, Christopher Walker, David Cui Cui, Gabriel Michael, Keith Richards, Ken Jackson, Matthew Pauli, Mike Carnes, Morgan Dalla Betta, Nick J. Worth your time

This has got to be one of the best novels I've read in decades. I've read a lot of fantasy novels and this is definitely in the top 20.

Absolutely fantastic

This is the best audio drama I have ever listened to. 5 stars are not enough for this one.

Phenomenal performances

I had almost given up on graphic audio after listening to the Warbreaker graphic audio (the rough sound mixing left it hard to listen to). This has completely redeemed graphic audio in my mind! The performances were incredible, the music well selected, and the mixing perfectly clear. 5/5 please do more of these.

Sadly disappointed

Never really gets anywhere, rollicking? No real entertainment, too much seemingly clever commentary, philosophical navel gazing claptrap. I agree that it borrows from Princess Bride but also I would add the Snow Queen.
