Lexi is a survivor; she has spent her whole life moving from one abusive foster home to the next, until she decided to take charge of her own life. she speaks in this really tilted odd staccato like rhythm… like a few words really quickly and then a pause and then another few words. It’s not a normal way of speaking, so I believe she had to have been directed to speak that way, and I think whoever produced this did her a disservice.

She comes across as a spoiled stereotype instead of a real girl trying to figure her life out

The guy needs to learn how to breathe and read. His intake of air after every sentence is very annoying.
