About this listen

From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Aladdin.

She’s his diamond in the rough. He’s her worst nightmare.

Yasmin Karam, daughter of one of the richest men in the world, has never known strife. So, when her beloved father falls ill, she is determined to make his final days his happiest. His last wish? To see her married to a man of his choosing. Except Yasmin’s heart already belongs to someone else. A servant. A street rat. A man her father would never consider worthy.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Yasmin strikes a desperate deal with her father’s right-hand man, Julian, not realizing he has his own twisted agenda.

Julian Faraci has one goal: become the most powerful man in the world. He has built a future from broken bones and faded bruises, never caring who he hurt along the way. But when his mentor falls ill, he finds himself on the verge of losing everything, and he’ll stop at nothing to inherit what is rightfully his—even if it means forcing a woman he can’t stand into marriage.

Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he’s the villain of her story. But he decides she’ll be his―no matter what it takes to convince her.

Twisted was full of with twists for sure

This audiobook brought so many emotions out of me. I loved how creatively the world and characters were built. I LOVED the narrators voice ,I would rate that 100/10!❤️ I finished it in one day and I am dying for sleep but it was WORTH IT!!!! The enemies to lovers, how the story twisted my heart(maybe thats why the title) and how extra heated it was ,I want to relive it again. God bless you Emily McIntire and your amazing work!!!!!!!! You really have a work of magic ;you showed us what it's like to truly love a villain. 🖤🖤🖤

Another meh book by Emily McIntyre

I have now read 4 of Emily’s books and the only one that I loved was Hooked. I loved it so much that I immediately bought the whole series. I have never been so underwhelmed by a series in my life. I keep trying to find another one that grips me the way that hooked did and they’ve all come up short. Scarred was by far the worst- I didn’t even finish it. This one wasn’t memorable, but wasn’t horrible either. But it wouldn’t hold a candle to Hooked imo. Yasmins narration I found extremely annoying and Julian’s had no depth or emotion at all. Overall, underwhelming. I think I’m giving up on this series.

True love

This book is dark and sad fake marriage that turns into true love, the loss of a parent never heals but gets easier to deal with as long as you have others to cherish and love you through the hard times you will go through

Loved the characters

Wish we could see more of this story in a book too but there’s something to say for letting us imagine the rest.

Least fav in the series

This is my least fav so far in the series. I understand it’s an enemies to lovers book but I honestly felt it was a little too heavy on the enemies part. Julian was a dick and had no redeeming qualities that I don’t understand why Yasmin fell for him, other than the forced proximity from being forced to marry. Yasmin is also in desperate need of a strong female in her life cus those men she surrounds herself with are questionable 👀

Good Series

It’s a pretty good listen not my favourite of the 4 books but I’d definitely listen to it again.

great audio

2.5 stars rounded up

I don't know how to rate this. Some parts felt rushed.

The overall story was just OK, slightly boring if I'm honest. Nothing particularly exciting happened until about 85% into it when Yas and Julian go to Egypt for the Lamp. Everything after this trip was entertaining, and that twist! I didn't see it coming and genuinely enjoyed it.

The ending is the only reason I'm even considering giving this more stars.

Dark twisted version of Aladdin

This book was a dark sexy but twisted version of the classic Aladdin story.

There were parts I enjoyed (the spice) but also parts that were just dragged out and kinda boring, this is the 4th book in the series yet they all seem to read the same. Each dark male character saying he would burn 🔥 everything off her, it’s repetitive when they all do and say basically the same things.

I did find the chemistry better between these two love interests compared to the last two books that seemed disingenuous.

No big twist and turns at the end of the book but the choice they made with the lamp 🪔 felt right.

I don’t know these books aren’t horrible but they’re not great the writing isn’t the best, but the spice is fun!
