Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004, Wangari Maathai has been fighting for environmental responsibility and democracy in her native Kenya for over 35 years. Unbowed recounts the incredible journey that culminated in her appointment to Parliament in 2002.

Wagare Maathai, a gifted, brave trailblazer
Wangari Maathai has bravely and honestly crafted a remarkable memoir of her amazing life. She makes every woman stand taller realizing that their power resides within nomatter the obstacles. A very empowering read. I stand and clap for her and I can here the trees clapping too!
