About this listen

The thrilling apocalyptic horror series in one complete box set!

From bestselling author of Dead Meat, a terrifying, epic and action-packed story about the carnage unleashed when a strange object in the sky turns people into blind, raging monsters.

It’s an ordinary Monday.

Until everything changes forever.

At 2:44 PM, a mysterious crack appears in the sky.

Anyone unfortunate enough to look up is immediately struck blind. What’s worse, their mind is wiped clean, replaced with a vicious urge to kill anyone within reach.

Mark is at work when it happens. Fighting not to fall asleep, the boring department meeting suddenly turns into a bloodbath when people are drawn to the windows to look up at the sky.

Down at the street, Gina just finished shopping and now finds herself thrown into a scene from a horror movie, as everyone around her begins beating each other to death.

Stopping at a red light, Tommy's stepdad leans forward to gaze upwards. Without warning, Tommy is trapped inside the car with a mindless monster intent on killing him.

Now, these ordinary people must stand together in the fight for mankind, or die along with it. As the crack grows bigger, more and more people succumb to the rage. Societies collapse and the world is plunged into mayhem.

And there seems to be no cure. No safe haven. Not even an explanation.

Only blind rage.

Filled with action and suspense from the start, this dark, gripping tale of the apocalypse is driven by compelling characters placed in impossible situations.

A supernatural survival thriller perfect for fans of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jeremy Bates, Iain Rob Wright and Jeremy Robinson. If you enjoyed The Stand, Cell, Bird Box and The Dark, then Under the Breaking Sky is a great match for you.

Damn, that was good.

I was looking for a new, long apocalyptic story ever since I had finished the Slow Burn series. This came up as a suggestion on Facebook somehow. It is a such a great story, filled with great characters. The narrator seems to get better and better as he grows into the characters as well. The fact that I got this entire box set for one credit leaves me feeling like I've gotten the best deal I've had on anything in a long time! I highly recommend this series.

Best Book since the stand

Best adventure i've read since the stand. awesome Insight into the human ego. we can all be capable of good as well as evil in different circumstances. very deep beautiful underlying meanings
characters and edge of your seat thriller all in one. I believe I've just found another favorite author... this makes 3 authors on my top three list. Took me 69 year to find #3.

Gripping suspense, action, love and loss.

Characters are well fleshed out with many story arcs. Narrator did an excellent job. One of the best books I've listened to here on audible. Write on, Mr. Claussen! Thanks for the ride and the excellent story.

Only one plot inconsistency near the end of the whole series. Use the darn machine gun mounted on the roof of the military vehicle. It was mentioned once when the vehicle was commandeered but was never used or mentioned again.

overall good times.

Story was fun! A bit odd, but different is good. A refreshing new take. The writing of the first book is a bit rough but falls into a good rhythm by mid second book. I'd say my biggest issue is that pretty much every (but not all) female characters seems to have abuse related trauma and every male seems to have Father/parent related trauma. Trauma features heavily in the story, so to an extent it makes sense. But reusing the same traumas for each character seems lazy. It doesn't take away from the story too much. It was just something that stuck out to me.

A great story equally matched by great narration.

Extremely happy with the narrator and a fantastic Tale. highly recommend. not one of these multi-book series that could have been summarized in one book. very well written and consistent engagement with the reader.

Horrendous absolutely awful, and bad

Listened to several excruciating hours, it’s just utter garbage, that I pray they return this book.
But I'm going to tell you this- everyone suffers from exceptional stupidity. I mean stupidity. In this book the people who go blind are rageful, but if you are quiet, you can sometimes get by them. Instead, our intrepid idiots have idiotic conversations instead of saying "You must NOT make noise". No one says this- instead they do the absolute stupidest things. Guy who's cheating on his pregnant wife, goes and rescues and brings home to his wife, his mistress. And she hugs her, instead of quietly killing her. I gave up about then.
The EVIL people of the book are so over the top too, All they need are twirling mustaches, and some jackboots.
It's really terribly written.
