About this listen

The internationally best-selling self-empowerment work from influencer, rapper, and spoken-word artist Humble the Poet, now available in a new edition with a new foreword by the author. Unlearn offers short, accessible, and counterintuitive lessons for reaching our full potential.

Beloved for his sincerity, playfulness, and sage advice, globally famous rapper, spoken-word artist, poet, blogger, and influencer Humble the Poet has traditionally shared his message of self-discovery, creativity, and empowerment with his fans through music and written word. That message has now been extended to this empowering audiobook, offering insights and wisdom that challenge conventional thinking and help you tap into your best, most authentic self.

Humble sees life with unique clarity. In Unlearn, he opens our eyes to our own lives, helping us to recognize the possibilities that await us and the challenges that prevent us from realizing our dreams. With his characteristic honesty and forthrightness, he helps us shed the problematic lessons we’ve learned throughout our lives that limit us, from sabotaging habits, to fixed mind-sets, to past regrets, and relearn new, unconventional ways of moving through life.

Among his 101 lessons are:

  • Fitting in is a pointless activity
  • Don’t trust everything you feel
  • Killing expectations births happiness
  • Comparisons are killer
  • Baby steps add up
  • You decide your worth

Profound in its simplicity, Unlearn is the perfect invitation to a new beginning and to pursue a life of fulfillment.

Always wanting to come back to the pages

I loved it. It rejuvenates me. Gives me motivation. Keeps me happy, make me feel how important self importance and self love is. How often we ignore ourselves to keep others happy? I love Kanwar Singh. I have shared this book with couple of friends who wanted to listen to each and every single word HTP uttered. Humble, I desperately want to listen to you more and looking forward for more work .

Give Unlearn A Turn

Awesome Listening Experience. A Lot To Reflect On These Days And The Perspective/Delivery Allows The Reader To Connect On A Personal Level, Making The Journey More Meaningful. In My Humble Opinion, Give It A Listen.

Why not?

It's not selfish to put yourself first. It's selfish to expect others to put you first.

I can't quite put into words all the amazingness that this book has given me (and continue to give me) that little nudge that I need to be a better version of myself, everyday. I got my copy early last year, I got the audio book from audible when it came out about a month ago. This book is a game changer. You take a chance, and allow yourself to accept that you have the power in your hands to change the situation you're in or change within yourself to become a better version of yourself (for yourself). Just think about it like when the Toronto Raptors took that chance and traded our beloved DeMar for Kawhi. Almost everyone was like "WHAYYYYYYY!?!" and to be honest, when in the first few minutes of me finding out that the trade happened that was also what I felt. But then, a few minutes later, I was like, "WHY NOT!" (note: when the trade happened, I've already read and have reread this book maybe around 24x). Change is the only thing that is constant (aside from death). Why not give change a chance? But of course, if you do give it a chance - make sure it's for yourself.

So... Still contemplating? The only thing I can say is this: put yourself first. Welcome change. Why not?

Get it!

There are a lot of self help/improvement and motivation (“you can own the day!” Some former jock dude shouts in your ear) books out there, but a lot of them lack humility and grace—this is a great addition to the pack. Get it for your boyfriend, husband, brother and get it for yourself!

Great and quick reminders

I’ve listened to this audiobook a few times now, it’s been a great way to get perspective when I’m frustrated or down.
There isn’t likely to be anything earth shattering for you in these pages (though maybe there is) but it’s one of those books that you can come to again and again for gentle reminders.
