About this listen
Whether the narcissist in your life is a boss, coworker, relative, or romantic partner, the exercises and advice in Unmasking Narcissism will help you set healthy boundaries and make sense of this complex and often painful issue. In this groundbreaking guide from clinical psychologist Mark Ettensohn, PsyD., you will gain insight into narcissistic behaviors, symptoms, and relationship dynamics. Dr. Ettensohn provides exercises designed to help you clarify your own values and goals for the relationship, whether that means immediate separation or long-term relationship management. Anyone whose life has been touched by narcissism will find this book helpful - whether you are coming to terms with a loved one's diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality disorder (NPD), or working to move forward after leaving a narcissistic relationship.
Unmasking Narcissism provides strategies and coping styles that will guide you toward a deeper understanding of both the narcissist and yourself, with:
- Easy-to-listen-to sections aligned with the DSM-5 criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
- Explanations of both grandiose (overt) and vulnerable (covert) narcissism.
- Healing tools and techniques, including how to defuse arguments instead of fuel them, mindfulness meditation, and exploring vulnerability.
- Real-world stories of people coping with narcissists.
Throughout, Unmasking Narcissism offers a fully realized, yet compassionate portrait of narcissism that will help you on your path to healing without compromising your own mental health and wellness.

Too short but relatable content.
This book is a great start to understanding narcissism however I feel the story’s to help understand and relate narcissism to real life intended to help understand take up a huge portion of the pages in this book. It’s good to get started but I feel if you are reading this book it is because there is someone high spectrum in your life. Although this can be a quick read or listen, it doesn’t really hit the very seriousness of what a Narc can do to your psychology health. Reading this book during a time for me when I am dealing with all the things a Narc does wasn’t a huge help as thinks like silent treatment, gaslighting, psychological warfare with sudden devalue and discard without reason are not a topic often in this book. However I found self awareness in my own self narcissistic traits and workshop ideas to help growth while liking inward. Conclusion - buy the book read open minded looking inward and out. Working on yourself, understanding yourself and narcissistic personality disorder can get you through the pain inflicted by someone suffering from NPD. Remember it’s a disorder and it isn’t there fault.

Take a pass on this one
I personally hated this book. The narrator was so awful with his raspy voice. I wanted to return the book the minute I heard his voice. I finished the whole book though today and yet I can't really think of anything he said that was even memorable.
