About this listen

No woman can resist Luke Sanch’s chiseled features, honed physique, auburn hair, and intense green eyes.

While deadly in combat, he’s an indomitable weapon in bed. He can coax an explosive release with only his mouth and annihilate with insidious, mind-blowing pleasure. When he infiltrates La Rocha Cartel, he must seduce Vera Gomez to determine whether to rescue her.

Or kill her.

Nothing can distract his icy, lethal focus. Except the cartel’s most feral captive. The nameless, raven-haired beauty is his key to dismantling Vera Gomez. But the ferocious little fighter challenges him at every turn and unknowingly battles her way into his heart. A battle that delivers him, physically and emotionally, into shackles.

It’s okay, but the female narrator- ugh.

I LOVE this series! They’ve all been winners up to now, but with this one, the story was okay but the narration by Lacy Laurel was so bad it kind of took the story down with it. It was a nasal drawl with a cartoon accent for Vera and nasal sneering for Luke. Or should that be “Loooooook”? Each word was made such a meal over, drawn out and rolled around, the only way it was tolerable was to speed it up to 1.1x or 1.2x when she was speaking.
Learn how to pronounce “Bogotá” if you need to talk about actually being in Columbia. J. Tipstone was good as Like, but most of the narration was by LL, which detracted terribly from the experience.
Also, if you are narrating a book, know the difference between “bow” as in the the thing you do to royalty - rhymes with “wow” and “bow” as in “bow and arrow” which means to arch - the exact opposite. And the the past tense of “to shine” is “shone” - rhymes with “gone” not “tone”. This is an ongoing pet peeve in the audiobook world.
