About this listen

I listen to lots of audiobooks from different fields and this one is my all-time favorite. It's fantastic and touching that you can listen to excerpts of the real recordings of the lady the whole story is about. Obviously it's also such an addictive book especially because it's not a fictional story but a story about a real survivor during Holocaust. It also caught my eye/ear that her own son did audio recordings of her spoken stories about her years of survival to help her turn this all into a book. It impressed me so much that he was brave enough to have these very private conversations with his own mum. But most importantly I'm deeply impressed by her narrative, there's no looking to polish the story up, it's just expressing the full truth of her experiences, she has this wonderful humor which seems to be tactic to endure and withstand undescribable fears and worries throughout years of living in and around Berlin while being persecuted and used but also supported by brave resistance fighters. I can't stop being impressed by this human and can't stop thinking about meeting her to ask her a thousand questions.
