About this listen

There's no going back to Earth. The only way forward is through hell.

After the explosive events surrounding MPF6's destruction on Karkin Four, Wic and his team of daredevil operators join forces with the rebel force known as the Blood Guard. While the Phantoms desire to help relocate human refugees to safer worlds, they're forced to confront a more pressing objective: cut off the head of the beast and keep the Androchidan Empire from enslaving another world.

Wic is immediately flung into the heat of battle, driven by retaliation, a need for justice, and the need to send a message to all other deviant species who'd wish to take advantage of the innocent: don't even think about it.

However, when a convert mission goes sideways, and key Blood Guard operatives turn up missing, Phantom Team must decide just how far they're willing to go to stop an alien species from wreaking havoc in the galaxy.

Tensions mount as the empire's high command closes in for the kill. Lies spread, secrets abound, and betrayal runs like blood in the streets. Will Sir Chuck provide critical intel in time to save the team? Can Wic pull one more hat trick against a world-conquering foe?

Find out in Valley of the Dead, the fifth nail-biting, white-knuckle episode of the acclaimed Ruins of the Earth series by Christopher Hopper and J.N. Chaney.

Narrator Switch

I am enjoying the story so far, but...the narrator change for the 5th book in the series is a horrible idea. It's like it is not even the same story. Patrick and Chucks voices don't sync with me at all. and I am having trouble telling which character is which 2 hours into this book. I am going to ask for a refund.

Missing RC, humour and what's with Sir Charles?!

Like several of the other reviews I really found it hard to get into this book with a new narrator. Sorry, but RC is just great. The tone in this book is different, especially for Sir Charles. What happened?! I miss the humour and also found it hard with the constant unrelenting action. I'll get the next book as I do want to see where this goes.

What happened to RC??

I have really enjoyed listening to these books, well up until this installment. This narrator just doesn't cut it. No offense to him but I've gotten used to RC's voices and now I feel lost. I will finish this book but not sure if I will be continuing on to the 5th installment.
It's been a great series.

it was okay

RC Bray is hard to replace nothing personal to the new narrator but with all new voices it’s like we lost our friends
story was good still like the style
and it’s a good story
but why no RC

Why did you change voice actors?

RC Bray was a way better voice actor. Did not like this voice actor at all.

Quality Landslide

It’s not the same without Bray. The new narrator should not try to do female voices. They just come out as whiny boys. I enjoyed the previous books but this one is a miss, there is no character development or breaks from action action action. The deaths of some of the crew were abrupt and just left behind without any closure.

Loved the first 4 books but not loving book 5

I didn't notice the narrator changed for this one when i bought it and it's simply not as fun to listen too. Everything seems more mono-tone and I'm missing the humor from the first 4 books, I find there is very little uniqueness to the characters voices that I've become accustomed to. I haven't finished book 5 and keep finding other things to listen to instead which makes me sad as i was enjoying this series.
