Russell Walker retreats from the shock of his wife's death by becoming a hermit in the woods of British Columbia. There he finds himself thrust into a precarious role as intermediary between a telepath called Smelly, so sensitive he can't stand to be near most people, and Constable Hilda, a skeptical police officer who needs Smelly's insight to track down a monstrous serial killer.©2004 Spider Robinson; (P)2005 Blackstone Audiobooks Fantastique Science-fiction Suspense Thrillers et romans à suspense Fiction

really enjoyed the writing style, and hearing Spider read it was great

some of the sadistic concepts & descriptions were hard to take. I chose not to listen near bedtime on occasion. this means it's well written, but recommending it to everyone is difficult

well written but hard to recommend.

Spider tells a story that is so enthralling, I had to stretch the experience out by rationing it into half hour sound bites. I savoured this book out over 3 months, a sweet torture I plan to repeat for the rest of his library.

catharsis with a sense of humour
