About this listen

Thoreau's classic account of the solitary life, describing his attempts to simplify his life and sort out his priorities by living alone in a cabin beside Walden Pond for nearly two years, is one of the most influential books ever written. The bible of the environmental movement, Walden vividly portrays Thoreau's reverence for nature, and his understanding of the idea that nature is made up of crucially interrelated parts.Public Domain (P)2006 Trout Lake Media Art & Literature Classics Nature & Ecology

Narrator

Though a decent performance it’s Much too stern sounding. Doesn’t match the text in my opinion.

wonderful piece of literature everyone ruined by Alec Sand

It goes without saying that this is one of the best pieces of literature ever written, but, the narrator of this wonderful book absolutely ruins it. He speaks in choppy and out of breath sentences, as if you were running uphill, trying to read the book in his hand. His narration is so bad I’m deleting it from my library. I will stay with my original copy or try to find another audible sharing. He is not the narrator. this guy is ridiculous.

Aggressive and stressful reading

I couldn’t finish this audiobook. The reader comes across as aggressive leading to a stressful experience trying to listen to this book
