About this listen
An 18-year-old chieftain's daughter must find a way to kill her village’s oppressive deity if she ever wants to return home in Warrior of the Wild, the Viking-inspired YA standalone fantasy from Tricia Levenseller, author of Daughter of the Pirate King.
How do you kill a god?
As her father's chosen heir, 18-year-old Rasmira has trained her whole life to become a warrior and lead her village. But when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged and she fails the test, her father banishes her to the monster-filled wilderness with an impossible quest: To win back her honor, she must kill the oppressive god who claims tribute from the villages each year or die trying.

Cute but predictable
Good for an easy listen. The plot is very predictable so I didn’t mind turning on sleep mode at night. It’s a good listen and did the job as a nightly relaxing “read“

A strong female heroine!
I wish this book was a series because I want more! I love any story where the main character is knocked down just to adapt, overcome and rule! Especially one with a romance snuck in!
I do like the bit of steamyness without full out sex taking over. Just a bit of dirty ness without pages of descriptive sex lmao
I will await Tricia’s next novel and hope that she continues to use Marisa as the narrator. If you haven’t read The Daughter of the Pirate King duology that Marisa narrates, it’s an easy listen and highly recommend!

Confusing at points but good story
The narrator made some of the conversations confusing between voices at time. I really enjoyed the story though.
