Fantastic story, excellent voice acting
The story was engaging and compelling, it was hard to stop the recording I wanted to know what happened next.
The voice acting was very well done! I normally get annoyed at the different character voices they try to do, but these really did add to the story. I would absolutely buy this as a gift.

Awesome story!
In the 80s there were horror films about occult heavy metal bands, and it has become a lost genre. We Sold Our Souls brings it back.

Great story.
Relatable and realistic characters who seem like they could be someone you know, on a journey that is harrowing, mind bending and at terrifying.

Slow going for me
I really enjoyed the plot of this novel. Having never read Grady Hendrixs before, I was excited to read this since he’s on my TBR.
My issue was while the plot was intriguing and interesting to me, I couldn’t get into this mostly I think because of the way it was written.
The narrator wasn’t terrible but I don’t think they put much effort or excitement into the novel either.
Overall i think it was okay, but I don’t think I’d read/listen to it again.

Great For Metalheads
An unrelenting and brutal look into the life of an aging heavy metal rocker and what music can mean to people, WE SOLD OUR SOULS is as intense as it is bombastic and creative. The story balances many different ideas and themes, the core of which is the importance of individuality and creativity, no matter the hardships it demands.
Kris Pulaski is the former member of a heavy metal band that broke up after one devastating night that elevated one of them and cost the others nearly everything. When she learns that her former best friend is going on a farewell tour, Kris is determined to set the record straight and embarks on a powerful, terrifying journey to be heard.
Kris is a great character. She has been through a lot and I found it easy to empathize with her as she relived one incredible journey and began another. She endured staggering hardships but always found her way back, dedicating herself to the music in her heart.
The plot was filled with tense, disturbing, and gruesome in some moments. Definitely not for the faint of heart. It's a short story so it moved quickly, which I enjoyed, though I feel there were some elements missing. Mainly, this came in the form of side characters and supernatural elements. I felt that those could have been explored more to give a greater scope of what was happening.
That said, Hendrix's trademark style of description, strong word choice, and sentence structure made this an enjoyable read. It's not perfect, but it was what I wanted from Hendrix and spoke to my love of heavy metal. This is a great little story for lovers of that music genre, or some off-the-walls horror.

Good Book!
This was a really well written, original, captivating story! I loved the characters and the narrator was perfect for the main character. Really entertaining enjoyable book.

Another Hendrix Hit!
Another awesome Hendrix joint, with Carol Monda doing a great job narrating. One or two minor plot holes, but otherwise this dark AF tale was killer!

Grady Hendrix does it again.
I simply devoured this book. I couldn’t stop listening. Wonderful characters, compelling story, and just the right amount of skin-crawling horror. Fabulous narration is the cherry on top.
