Thursday Murder Club fans won't be disappointed
I am a huge fan of the Thursday Murder Club series, so when I saw that Richard Osman had written something outside of the series, I was very excited to give it a try. It did not disappoint: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love the way he makes his characters, even if they are terrible humans, relatable and even likeable. This, combined with a good mystery, makes his books so much fun to read.
The narrator also knocked it out of the park by giving each character a unique voice, without going too over the top.
Hopefully this book will be the beginning of a new series!

Great narrator
Nicola Walker is not only a great actor, she is a superb narrator. She is excellent with the character’s voices - the best I have heard in any audiobook.

A romping great time!

A Cat Named Trouble
I really enjoyed this book and it was superbly narrated by Nicola Walker who gets the tones, pace and nuances perfectly. I like the multigenerational style of humour and outlook Osman's books have as it makes the characters so very relatable. This book is fast paced for the action scenes but manages to slow down for the poignant moments around loss and love and allows us to feel with and for the characters without being overly emotive. As with the Thursday Murder Club series, which I really enjoyed too, there are lots of characters, red herrings and puzzles for us to enjoy. I like that there is always a central pet in the plot just for the normality this brings and a more down to earth vibe for the characters. Osman is not overly descriptive of his characters but it comes out in small ways in their choice of clothing, food, views on others or accoutrements which either adds a lot of humour or understanding of who they are. I look forward to solving again with Steve, Amy and Rosie as they left me with a big smile on my face this time. Thank you Richard Osman.

Fun from beginning to end
Richard Osman does it again - a literal world tour, great characters, murder mayhem and a cat named Trouble. It's the literary equivalent of your favourite box of chocolates. Also, Nicola Walker (Unforgotten, River) narrated, and boy, is she good! Harmless fun:)
