Such safety is fleeting though, for a new threat is revealed elsewhere in the county, obsessed with dominion over the dwindling number of local survivors.

Investigating this new peril while searching for other survivors - and hoping for answers to the questions that plague her waking hours - Lockey and Nate discover this new threat to their growing community is far more menacing than they could ever imagine...
