Publisher's Summary

You’ve been lifting for a few years. When you take your shirt off, do you look like a professional athlete? Do you even look like you work out?

Many so-called fitness experts defend weights and cardio like they are infallible. But where are the results? Why does almost nobody look even marginally athletic?

Fitness may be the most failed human endeavor, and you are about to hear how exercise science has missed some obvious principles that, when enacted, will turn you into the superhuman that you've always wanted to be.

In Weight Lifting Is a Waste of Time, Dr. John Jaquish and Henry Alkire explore the science that supports this argument and present a superior strength-training approach that has been known to put 20 pounds of muscle on drug-free, experienced lifters (i.e., not beginners) in six months.

Good research and cool fitness idea

I liked the book and concept. Felt at times sales driven or worshiping Jaquish.

Quite interesting

Definitely provocative. Could have listened to more nutritional discussion. Otherwise, I can't say I didn't enjoy this. It reaffirmed thoughts and ideas that I've brought up and were easily dismissed by others.

one big advertisement

This was just a 5hr long add for several products they developed and sell. Buying this is like paying to hear to hear 5hrs of ads.

Very biased book. Is more of a marketing and sales pitch for their product. Misleading title.

It’s a sales pitch

You will get the point after 10 minutes in. The product they are pitching is $700+.
Not a legit book.

Sales pitch!

I have not listened to the entire book yet, not sure I will. It seems like a 5 hour sales pitch for the related product. I think its an incredible concept and a path I should probably consider to avoid injury but this book was not what I was expecting. Should have read some of the other reviews before purchasing.

advertisement

This book is essentially one big advertisement for his products. It should come free when you purchase the x3 system.

Slap Chopped

It’s a long winded advertisement for a barbell, elastic bands, and a box. Just google x3 system. $700 pile of crap with a crappy book to add on to the price tag
