About this listen

An all new angsty, dark, stand-alone Contemporary Romance in the Moments in Boston Series ...

You never forget your first love … even when he becomes a memory.

There was before. When we were together, when we were happy. When we had nothing but dreams. When not a single bad thing could ever happen because we were young and in love.

And there was after. When the unthinkable occurs, how do you count time, knowing how precious it is? When dreams turn to nightmares, how do you wake up every day and choose to go on? When you have a chance to save another, how can you not?

Even if it changes everything. Even if it destroys you.

A harrowing, heartbreaking dark contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann, the third installment in the Moments in Boston series of stand-alones that explores the darkest nights and brightest dawns of the heart. A book that will leave you aching … and looking over your shoulder.

Another heartbreakingly beautiful read in this series

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I definitely didn’t expect this book to be so dark. After how hard the first book hit me, I honestly didn’t expect this one to hit me so hard. This book broke my heart all over again. I loved the connection to Dylan and getting to hear more about him from before he met Alix and them from a friend’s point of view as a couple.

Pearl was such a strong fmc and I felt a real connection with her. Her relationship with her gram was so special 🤍. For a college girl, she had so much responsibility and pressure on her shoulders.
I loved how supportive Ashe was with Pearl. Always knowing the limit of how hard to push her, being there to support her and making her feel special and loved any chance he could. Always wanting to cheer her own and take away some of her burdens.

This book is told in a before and after format with the second half of the book significantly darker.

The narration was so well done. Each narrator did so well portraying the difficult emotions captured within this book. I honestly loved this series as heartbreaking as it was.
