In every life there is a turning point....

A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one's life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London's most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.

After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca's surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere 36 hours longer - the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin.

But that was then.... Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love...until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets....

Featured Article: The Bridgertons Audiobooks in Chronological Order

In a fictional Regency-era London, the Bridgerton and the Featherington families depend on the marriages of their many children. Bridgertons has won over the hearts of millions, and Julia Quinn has likened the series to "a Cinderella story." Shonda Rhimes adapted the series of romance novels into the hugely popular Bridgerton Netflix series. Although a different character inspires each volume of the series, it’s best to enjoy the saga chronologically.

Another endearing, if more gut-wrenching, story from the Bridgertons. This one follows Francesca, recently widowed, and the unexpected courtship of her deceased husband's cousin—and her own dear friend—Michael.

While I didn't quite connect with Francesca and Michael as I have with other Bridgerton romances, I found their story to be unique and complex. Not only were they grappling with their feelings about the one they lost, but they were coming to terms with grief, growth, and who they wanted to become. I really enjoyed their development, especially when it became clear that Francesca was not quite the good girl she made herself out to be.

As always, the plot and writing make for a highly entertaining read, and the ending made my heart feel nice and warm. Definitely excited for the next book!

This is one of my favourite books of the series. Francesca’s grief and new found love let alone the raunchier. The trope from friends to lover is nicely explored.

This story is better than her other works, it has comedy, romance, and friendship. It was very beautiful written.

Francesca's life and love life is a roller coaster. Grief, Denial, Friendship, Hope and Love are only part of this amazing story!
I do miss the presents of Lady Whistledown.

Fantastic

The love story and hearing their inner thoughts is well done. If there was less focus on sex, it would have been better.
