About this listen
The first of A.A. Milne's four world-famous books for children, When We Were Very Young introduced Christopher Robin to innumerable friends and has probably been read more widely than any other book of verse for children published in our time.
For sheer delightfulness, the children's rhymes of A.A. Milne are in a class by themselves, with their charm, humor, and understanding, to say nothing of their irresistible rhythms.

"Peter's reading of A.A. Milne's verse and poetry is about you and me and that cognac-colored moment when a scent of memory sends us flying back through time to a place in youth where, for a perfect instant, nothing is wrong." (Los Angeles Times)
Featured Article: Classic Winnie-the-Pooh Quotes to Awaken the Child Within
The classic tales of Winnie-the-Pooh and his companions captured hearts in 1926, and continue to bring happiness to kids (and kids at heart) nearly 100 years later. Pooh also holds an extra special place in the hearts of Canadians, who know the real bear which inspired the tales hailed from Winnipeg. That’s how Winnie got his name!

Not as great for falling asleep as I'd hoped...
My mother and grandmother read this to me as a small child. It's nice to revisit these poems. my only complaint with the performance is that the narrator sometimes yells some lines quite loudly, which isn't a problem in itself but doesn't suit my purpose, which is to listen to these while I fall asleep!
