Publisher's Summary
Welcome to the fascinating world of behavioral paradoxes: apparent contradictions which make sense once we understand the human needs and motivations behind them. This inspiring book invites you to ponder contradictory behaviors which reflect our shared humanity and, surprisingly, offer pathways to improved mental health, meaningful living, and well-being for ourselves and others.
Rich with common sense and examples from lived experience, Dr. Manassis (retired child psychiatrist) provides a fresh look at mindfulness, unselfconsciousness, reciprocity, wonder, and other “stuff” we need to live with equanimity and purpose. The ripple effects go well beyond our personal lives to affect our families, communities, and future generations.

Truly an enriching book!
This book made me realize how much I am responsible for the world I create around me everyday and paradoxically how much control I have to change it so I can enjoy better relationships with my wife, kids, friends and even with acquaintances and strangers. A must read!
