Publisher's Summary

In the newest Night Rebel novel, set in New York Times best-selling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress world, beautiful, daring vampire Veritas risks all to protect Ian....

Some promises are meant to be broken....

Veritas spent most of her life as a vampire Law Guardian. Now, she’s about to break every rule by secretly hunting down the dark souls that were freed in order to save Ian. But the risks are high. For if she gets caught, she could lose her job. And catching the sinister creatures might cost Veritas her own life.

Some vows are forever....

Ian’s memories might be fragmented, but this master vampire isn’t about to be left behind by the woman who entranced him, bound herself to him, and then disappeared. So what if demons, other Law Guardians, and dangerous, otherworldly forces stand against them? Come hell or high water, Ian intends to remind Veritas of the burning passion between them, because she is the only person seared on his mind - and his soul....

Excellent

5 Blue Roses
3.5 – 4 Blue Flames

Narrator Tavia Gilbert masterfully delivered another favorite vampire paranormal romance, by Jeaniene Frost. This author and narrator team is one of the best out there. Tavia’s ability to carry different voices and accents stands out shoulder high above most female, including male narrators. Her performances feels like it is a multi-cast, instead of only one narrator. Each book she performs, is an experience of unending smiles and laughter. The unique personalities of her characters melts perfectly with the genre, her male and female voices are of such high quality I forget that I am listening to a woman. Her natural voice is neutrally pleasant to listen to.

Ian’s mind may be halfway deleted, the man is so fucking arrogant, his dying, resurrection and mindwipes, does not affect him. At all!

I enjoyed him tremendously, he is highly intelligent, always calculating, and he loves Veritas so much, I am jealous of her. Together, they go on a mission to once and for all catch the demon Dagon, who started all the shit in the first place. Ian wakes up and finds Dagon’s mark under his balls is gone, he knows he is married, but his wife is gone, his memory is half way gone and his friends, Cat and Bones patience are gone.

This turns out to be an epic journey, and boy, it’s unforgettable. Yes, the good guys win, but the world building and character development is of such high quality, it felt like I was watching a movie.

I absolutely recommend this audiobook. It’s part of a series, so I recommend listening to it in reading order. If you truly want to enjoy this start with the Night Huntress series. All the characters appear in this series.

Happy Listening

Obligatory heading

I prefer my vampires less mystical, and the characters in the series seem to be getting more and more overpowered. Also, why do they keep saying there are only 3 races when it's becoming clear there are at least one or two more than that?

As Good as the First!

Revelations continue. I'm really enjoying the story of Ian and Veritas. Twists and turns - you neve know what's going to be revealed or happen next. The ending was satisfying and intriguing.
