Publisher's Summary
Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.
Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols. But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.
I'm a Norm, which means I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers. And now, I'm going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I've been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.
To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.
They hate me simply because I'm a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they'd tear me apart limb by limb. But I'm done cowering away from Idols. It's time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.
Contains mature themes.

Great story! Male narrator is meh
The overall story is great! Super addicting!
The female narrator is good, but the male narrator took me a while to get used to. Every character sounded the same, so it was hard to differentiate them, and all I could think was he was trying to make them sound like a “cool surfer dude” you’d see in an old movie. (Lol sorry, that’s the best description I can give for what I mean.)
I’ll definitely be listening to the rest of the series though, regardless of the narration. ;)
Can’t wait to find out what’s gonna happen next!

Good story
Pretty good story, but the make narrator makes the female voices a liitle cringey. But a overall pretty great book for the price.

Story is good, male narration is not.
male narrator sounds like he is making fun of the characters which makes it hard to get into the story.

Caught me from the start
The story is cool and it absorbs you in no time. The only thing I was not a fan of was the male voice actor. This book has several male characters and it didn’t really catch on what made them unique, as well when he was reading the female parts the tone made no sense with how the female character sounds which almost bothered me.

Promising idea horrible execution and bad narrators
Horrible book and equally horrible narrators. Just because you have a good voice does not mean you will be good at narrating. The female narrator just read with barely any changes to her voice aside from it being high-pitched and the male read so slowly almost like he was stoned while reading.
I downloaded this book with High Hopes and was very disappointed. this is not at all what I expected. Almost immediately you are cast into a series of events that don’t seem to be explained and then fast forwarded seven years where things are still not explained. I started skipping almost immediately to see if the book would get any better but it never did. Promising idea horrible execution.
