Publisher's Summary
With more than four million copies sold, Wifey is Judy Blume's hilarious, moving tale of a woman who trades in her conventional wifely duties for her wildest fantasies - and learns a lot about life along the way.
Sandy Pressman is a nice suburban wife whose boredom is getting the best of her. She could be making friends at the club, like her husband keeps encouraging her to do. Or working on her golf game. Or getting her hair done.
But for some reason, these things don't interest her as much as the naked man on the motorcycle....
What the critics say
“It works perfectly! Wit, pathos, and the ring of real life.” (Los Angeles Examiner)
“A very likeable heroine...a nice, upper-middle-class housewife with a very dirty mind.... Hide it where the children won't see it.” (The Cincinnati Enquirer)

Wifey
I could relate to this book a lot but not entirely. I was really disappointed in the ending it felt rushed and uncompleted .

It’ll never be considered great literature but it’s lots of laughs with a mix of reality!
I read and loved all of Judy Blume books in grade school, came of age reading her teen books, and have continued loving her into adulthood. I have read and re-read Wifey dozens of times since it was first published in 1978 and still enjoy it as much as the first time I read it. Listening to it for the first time brought a whole new dimension to Sandy’s story. The narration was excellent! Of course the book is quite outdated so while listening keep in mind that what women expected from marriage 30 plus years ago, and were willing to endure, is very different from today. This is a different kind of coming-of-age that can happen later in life. Enjoy the story!
